Along with the trademark application, you must include a power of attorney that has been signed and verified by a Saudi Arabian consulate. Saudi Arabia does not allow applications for more than one class. That means that each type of goods or services needs its own request. Arabic is the language that is used in all hearings before the Saudi Patent Office. 1. A full power of attorney in the applicant's name and address that has been properly notarized and made official up to the Saudi Consulate. 2. A copy of the applicant's passport. 3. A list of the goods and services that feature in the brand. 4. A copy of your business license. 5. An image of the brand that looks good in JEPG format. 6. Two copies of the Articles of Association that have been properly authorized and sent to the Saudi Consulate.Trademark Application Process
- Trademark Search/Registration Order Form: The CIG Saudi Arabia consultant will verify the information regarding the goods and registration details, follow it up with preliminary advice, and classify the client's goods and services. The order form must be submitted through the Saudi Intellectual Property Authority's website.
- Fee payment: When the pre-filing search fees are paid, the CIG Saudi Arabia consultant will conduct the search and provide the client with a search report. The Ministry of Commerce and Industry's General Administration of Trademarks will conduct an examination of the trademark records to identify similar trademarks. Additionally, they will determine whether the trademark meets the registration requirements. The ministry will make a judgment from one of the following two options after conducting a thorough investigation:
- Acceptance or refusal: subject to the amendment condition (90-day waiver period in the event of acceptance, or 10-day waiver period in the event of refusal).Final refusal: If the requested adjustment is not made within the designated time frame (10 days), Alternatively, if the modification fails to satisfy the necessary criteria:
- The Ministry of Commerce and Industry will disseminate the trademark registration approval on the official website upon its completion.
- If no objections are raised, the General Administration of Trademarks of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry will issue the registration certificate. The certificate will be reviewed by a member of our team and subsequently transmitted to you.
